Administrator's Message

Dear Irvine Adult Transition Families,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at IATP! We are excited to start this year and encourage our students to move towards independence and personal growth through a variety of transition curriculum, work experience opportunities, travel training, and community-based instruction activities this year.

We want to work in partnership with you all to encourage independence and growth in our students, keeping social and emotional wellness in mind. We practice an inclusive and positive school environment where all students feel safe, supported, and heard by both teaching staff and support staff. We will work with all of our students to encourage independence and help them grow as individuals toward their future goals beyond IATP.

We have many traditions and exciting cultural celebrations that we learn about and explore during the school year, which makes us a close-knit community. We encourage inclusion and demonstrate our expectations of inclusion with our students in our local community through actions.

Exciting curriculum this year will include inclusive work experience opportunities for all students, a news channel created and produced by our students called “Owl Network News” (O.N.N), and the continued efforts of our Farmer’s Market, Able Coffee Roasters Coffee Cart, and Owlet Bracelet businesses.

Good luck in this new year, and we look forward to meeting our new families and continuing to foster our relationships with our current IATP families this year!

Warmly,

Ms. Karena Gibbs
